Cornel Hecht is an German musician, designer and composer. He lives and works in Hamburg.
2025: The historic synthesizer brand PPG (Palm Products Germany) was repositioned as a contemporary hardware manufacturer through a collaboration between Wolfgang Palm and Cornel Hecht. As part of this revival, the PPG 1002 Mk2 — a modern reinterpretation of one of the last fully analog synthesizers originally designed by Wolfgang Palm in 1975 — was introduced at Superbooth 2025.
2024: Development of the Hell Modular Synthesizer, a fully analog 5U modular synthesizer system designed for live performance and studio use. The system focuses on discrete analog circuitry, high-voltage headroom and a performance-oriented workflow.
July 2021: the track "Some Smoke" was licensed for the "Soundtrack 2021" compilation (DIMASI Music)
May 2021: the magazine "Amazona" published an interview (only in german).
March 2021 he released after many weeks of intensive work the soundtrack for the indie horror movie "PLANET ZEE". The movie is available on Blu-ray (Darkside Releasing).
October 2020 he released a soundtrack album for the indie horror movie"Some Smoke an a Red Locker". The movie is available on streaming (Amazon).
In June 2020 he released a new single with Georg Link "Colouroid" inspired by the 80s electronica.
2019 he released a new solo EP "RANGER THINGS" inspired by the famous 80s style soundtrack "Stranger Things".
In June 2019 he released a new single with Behnam Moghaddam "Tidy Up!" inspired by Marie Kondo.
In May 2018 he released a new single in 80s electronica style "Danger & Dreams - dangerous things & strange dreams"
In March 2018 created a Audio Trailers for SKY TV
At the end of 2017 there are various Business Trailers in progress.
In summer 2017 he starts a new collaboration with the famous female singer Chi Humm (Amon Düül) in Spain with two epic chillout songs (Kraut Chill Out).
2017 he produced a piece with the opera singer Sandra Wolf for Ennio Morricone.
In 2015 he started the collaborations with the singer Behnam Moghaddam and produced 2016 the "Pouring Rain" for the Studio Hamburg.
In 2013 he created a new version of Yello Founder Carlos Perón “La Salle Blanche“ fetish soundtrack and introduced this live in Switzerland.
Cornel moved from Braunschweig to Hamburg in 2008 to expand his collaborations and to shift his focus towards film scoring. Various compositions were produced, eg for video trailer of the music industry like Steinberg ore Wolfgang Palm / PPG / Waldorf.
A turning point in Cornel’s career came in 2005 when he was asked to score "Opale" for director Hans-Ulrich Danzebrink. The film earned a Award Nomination. Many soundtracks were created for the art school Braunschweig. He also realized the music for various tv commercials.
The HELL MODULAR SYNTHESIZER with no compromise in sound and build quality. Ergonomics and Sound is an important topic, the HELL is an unusual analog instrument.
